Eunice Lou Gower McHugh Scholarship Fund
Lou McHugh's Legacy Growing up on a farm in Robertson County, Tenn., during the Depression, the late Lou McHugh learned from her parents about the importance of extending a helping hand. She and her husband, Bill, had spent their lives together replicating that lesson and later dreamed about ways they could leave a legacy.
When it came time for Lou to sell the farm, she wanted to take the opportunity to give back to the community as her parents always had, and she donated the land through The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee Properties Nonprofit, LLC. With proceeds from the land sale she created three Funds. Two Scholarship Funds help students pursuing an education – one in memory of her parents for Robertson County students, and the other, in Bill’s memory, helps students pursuing a law degree. A third Fund honors Bill’s legacy of dedication to accessible pro bono legal representation.
