Team Mica Fund's "In the Raw" Pop Up Art Show

The "In the Raw" Art Mural is a project by suicide survivors, ranging in ages from 10 to 78 years old, through therapeutic art healing workshops with Your Heart on Art and funded through a grant from the Team Mica Fund. The mural will be on display at a pop up art show at Turnip Green Creative Reuse on Wednesday, September 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This show is a collaborative effort between Your Heart on Art, Team Mica Fund, Turnip Green Creative Reuse, The Porch, Platetone, and Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network.
Tonight's activities will include readings from The Porch Writer's Collective, and presentations from suicide survivors. Light hors d'oeuvres, wine, and soft drinks will be available.
The mural, which is three panels, will be traveling throughout the state beginning in August in Jackson, TN. It will travel to other areas of the state throughout the month of September in honor of Suicide Awareness Month.
The Team Mica Fund is a component fund of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The Fund's focus is to make grants to area nonprofits that support its mission, which is to restore hope to those who suffer from mental illnesses and raise awareness of suicide through education.
