Jeffrey Steele & Friends Benefit Concert
Benefit Concert for the Alex LeVasseur Memorial Fund of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee
Tuesday, March 13, 2012
6:30 pm – 10:00 pm
The Franklin Theatre
419 Main Street
The 5th annual Jeffrey Steele and Friends event, featuring Nashville singer-songwriter Jeffrey Steele and 10 other performers, gave the sold-out crowd at the Franklin Theatre a rocking a night of entertainment.
The evening featured a surprise performance by Martina McBride, who sang "I'm Gonna Love You Through It," in addition to singing with Steele, Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?"
Other performers, all playing with Steele and his band, included: John Rich, Chuck Wicks, James Otto, Keith Anderson, Pearl Heart, Chris Janson, David St. Romain, Emerson Hart of the band Tonic, and Jared Blake from "The Voice." A live auction during the night featured items such as hand-written lyrics for the number one hit "Here,” recorded by Rascal Flatts and written by Jeffrey Steele and Steve Robson.
This year, the Alex LeVasseur Memorial Fund of The Community Foundation established a new partnership with Clean Break, a nonprofit program supporting sober communities for young adults. At the end of the evening, the Steele family gathered onstage and presented Clean Break with a $10,000 check from the Fund.
This event supports the work of the Alex LeVasseur Memorial Fund, which was set up in 2007 when Alex, Jeffrey Steele's 13-year-old son, passed away in a tragic accident. This Fund creates and supports program that aide and impact youth, and has just celebrated five years of community impact through more than $150,000 in grants.
