History of the Cumberland BallFor over a decade, Middle Tennessee residents have attended the Cumberland Ball, an evening with dinner, drinks and dancing, and given generously to help raise a community endowment of nearly $400,000 for The Cheatham County Community Foundation Scholarship Fund.
Past scholarship recipient Haley Marshall of Ashland City reflects on what this educational support has meant to her, saying, “I am so grateful for the financial assistance I have received from The Community Foundation, and for the support I have felt from the community. Without that support, meeting tuition at a private institution and book costs would definitely be a struggle.”
Because of the scholarship Marshall received from The Cheatham County Community Foundation Scholarship Fund, she was able to enroll at Belmont University. She continued, “It is such a relief to know that when I graduate and begin my career as a teacher, my family and I will not be stressed out by numerous college loans.”
